You, Me, Empathy - Episode 96: We Are the Dented with Chris Brogan

Chris Brogan talks about Ketamine treatment for depression and the dented on episode 96 of You, Me, Empathy.

On Episode 96 of You, Me, Empathy, Chris Brogan and I explore doctor-prescribed Ketamine to treat depression, how we can incorporate more empathy into our businesses, and what it means to be dented.

Kicking off, Chris and I talk about the fake superpower of reading minds we sensitive feely people believe we have, what we can control in our experiences, the philosophy of The Dude, and where Chris’s depression started.

We explore Chris’s experience trying to figure out the right medication for depression, and eventually finding relief with Ketamine, including hallucinations, “walls making sounds,” and the doctor asking him if he’s ready to “trip balls.”

We gab about being an entrepreneur and dealing with mental illness, writing about mental illness, incorporating empathy into your business, and normalizing mental health through language, including what Chris refers to as “the dented.” We are all dented, in a sense, and through that comes healing and the knowledge that we are all in this together.
